Sanctuary Worship

Minister of Music Bob Hatfield Sanctuary Choir Senior Pastor Gary Fenton

Sundays, 9:40 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.

Both of the Sunday morning worship experiences in the Sanctuary are traditional in style. The Sanctuary Choir under the direction of Dr. Bob Hatfield provides uplifting choral music accompanied by the pipe organ, piano and frequently featuring either the Dawson Orchestra, the brass ensemble, or other musicians.

While the congregational singing involves traditional Christian hymns, contemporary congregational choruses are also used some times to express praise.
Worship in the Sanctuary includes the public reading of Scripture, prayer, a call to service, and the sermon by Senior Pastor, Dr. Gary Fenton.

MORNING PRAYER
Jan Jones, Minister of Education

CALL TO WORSHIP: “You Are God” arr. Rhodes
Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra

You are the star of the morning, unending song in the night.
One righteous prayer from anywhere carries the promise of light!
You are God on the highest mountain!
You are God of the deepest sea!
You are awesome in power and glory!
Great is your love for me!
You give the wings of an eagle if we are willing to wait.
One single word forever heard calls us to rise and not faint.

MEDLEY OF PRAISE:
Hymn No. 425: “He Keeps Me Singing” SWEETEST NAME
1. There’s within my heart a melody; Jesus whispers sweet and low,
“Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still,” in all of life’s ebb and flow.

REFRAIN: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know,
Fills my every longing, keeps me singing as I go.

2. All my life was wrecked by sin and strife, discord filled my heart with pain,
Jesus swept across the broken strings, stirred the slumbering chords again. (REFRAIN)

Hymn No. 217: “Oh, How I Love Jesus” OH, HOW I LOVE JESUS
1. There is a name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth;
It sounds as music in my ear, the sweetest name on earth.

REFRAIN:  Oh, how I love Jesus, Oh, how I love Jesus,
Oh, how I love Jesus, because He first loved me.

2. It tells me of a Savior’s love, who died to set me free;
It tells me of His precious blood, the sinner’s perfect plea.
