Dawson Ministries in the USA
Over the past ten years, hundreds of Dawson members have served all across the continental United States to take the good news of the gospel through mission projects, building projects and choir tours. These individuals have followed God’s guidance in their lives regarding how they can use their financial resources and their gifts to serve Him.
Every year, Dawson’s Chapel Choir goes on a one week tour, sharing the Gospel message through song in churches as well as other venues.
But in addition to singing, they also conduct ministry activities such as Backyard Bible Clubs and working in homeless shelters and rescue missions.
The Middle School Choir has now also begun similar annual trips and the Sanctuary Choir has performed in Washington, D.C.
The gift of music has been used as a point of entry to many missions opportunities.
Every summer, the Dawson builders work with people from other churches through a ministry known as Builder’s for Christ to assist smaller, growing congregations with construction of their church buildings. Our team saves these smaller churches hundreds of thousands of dollars in construction costs, which enables them to put their limited resources into reaching people for Christ.
Dawson members have traveled throughout the United States to help with disaster relief, particularly in Louisiana and Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina. This work has ranged from storm clean-up to rebuilding damaged homes.
Dawson’s high school youth participate each summer in World Changers, a ministry that sends teams to do home repair projects around the country. Our youth have put on roofs, re-built porches and decks, painted extensively and done many other types of home repairs as they have put God’s love into action. Obviously the recipients are blessed by this service but our youth grow in their spiritual walk as well.
Many other Dawson members have given their time and money to go on various kinds of mission trips within the United States. These trips share God’s love through Vacation Bible Schools and other community events designed to reach people for Christ.
Teams have worked on Indian Reservations and with relocated refugee children and have gone multiple times to Arizona and New Mexico as well as to Georgia, and in 2010 teams will work with Gentilly Baptist Church in New Orleans. Learn more about the partnership with Gentilly Click
Dawson members have traveled all over the United States over the past ten years to meet practical needs of individuals and churches while telling the message of Jesus Christ. Next Sunday you have the opportunity to make a commitment to God of how you will use your financial resources and your service in 2010. God has used, and will continue to use, your giving and service to reach others for Christ throughout our country.
