Items Needed for Medical Apartment Ministry

Will you help reach out to families of hospitalized patients? The Medical Apartment Ministry has an ongoing need for

• paper towels,
• toilet tissue,
• kitchen garbage bags, and
• quart-size and sandwich-size plastic bags.

Ministry Groups

Sisters in Action, 4th Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m., Medical Apartments and M-Power
Gather at the Nursery Desk. Preschool childre are cared for at Dawson (by reservation), while moms go in two directions to support the ministries of M-Power or the Medical Apartments.

Meals on Wheels, several times a month
Deliver midday meals to people (mostly elderly with health problems) in the Homewood area.

Soup Kitchen, 3rd Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.
Help prepare and serve a meal to needy or homeless people at the Old Firehouse Soup Kitchen.

Pathways Ministry Group, 3rd Thursdays, 6:15 p.m.
Visit the Pathways Shelter for homeless women and their children. Participate in crafts activities for adults and children, serve refreshments, present a brief devotiional thought.

Medical Apartments, 3rd Monday, 9:30 a.m.
Meet in the North Parking Lot and go to the UAB Medical Apartments. House cleaning chores may include dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, organizing closets or other assignments.

Hemmed in Prayer
Use your own sewing machine to make simple garments for needy children in other countries.

Learn about and Support Missions
Women on Mission is a missions organization for women (ages 18 and up) through which women pray for and give to missions, do missions, learn about missions, grow spiritually toward a missions lifestyle, and participate in the work of the church and the denomination.
The purpose of all Women on Mission activities is that every person have the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.

1st Thursdays, 5:30 p.m., Social Hall
Meet once a month to hear a missionary speaker or a ministry representative. Pray for missionaries. Participate in projects to support ministries in our community.

Dawson South Mission Group
3rd Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m., in homes
Meet once a month in a home in Homewood, Leeds, Hoover, or elsewhere. Meet a missionary or a ministry representative. Pray for missionaries.

World Missions Group
4th Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m., in homes
Meet once a month in a home in Homewood. Enjoy light refreshments and meet a missionary or a ministry representative. Pray for missions and missionaries.
