The Dawson Music Academy provides a Christian environment for students of all ages to learn about music and improve musical skills. Each year over 225 students enroll in the academy, which is open year round for music lessons and classes.  For more information or to register, email Layla Humphries or call her in the music office. Dawson Music Academy Youth String Orchestra

Conductor:  Amanda Igo

Rehearsals are in the Dawson Choir Room on Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 p.m.  Open to string players entering 6th -12th grade.  Fall Semester rehearsals will be September, October, and November.  Spring Semester rehearsals in January, February, March, and April.  Two concerts per year:  November and April.  Email Layla if you are definitely interested. 

Amanda Igo, conductor, has a Bachelor of Music Education with a concentration in string orchestra from Columbus State University and a Master of Music Performance with a concentration in violin from Georgia State University.

Cost: $75/semester (No additional registration fee needed if enrolled in the dma.) Non-dma students must pay the $40 annual registration fee.
