Sanctuary Choir Welcomes You!

Find a meaningful place of worship and service through the Sanctuary Choir. New music is here! New opportunities of service and ministry abound. Select the Sanctuary service in which you would like to sing (9:40 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.). No audition is necessary.

Rehearsals are on Wednesdays from 6:15 p.m.-7:45 p.m. We will begin rehearsing Christmas music on Wednesday, August 26. Childcare is provided through Quest and “After-Quest” childcare. If you serve in Quest, join the rehearsal already in progress when Quest is over. Contact the Music Office for more information.

Calling All Students. . . It’s Time for Choirs!

Middle School and Chapel Choirs are for you! A good group of Christian friends, exciting music, great special events, meaningful ministry, authentic worship. . . these elements make the youth choirs at Dawson a wonderful experience! Every Sunday, over 100 students gather at 5:00 p.m. for a great hour together. Over a dozen schools are represented. Enrollment and Rehearsals begin this Sunday, August 16, at 5:00 p.m.

• Middle School Choir (Grades 7-8) in Room 356 North

• Chapel Choir High School (Grades 9-12) in the Choir Room (3rd Floor, North)

Instrumental Music Groups Begin September 2

Instrumental music is a valuable part of the Dawson Music Ministry.  There are two wonderful groups for instrumental musicians:

The Dawson Orchestra: Pat Morrow, conductor
This 35 piece orchestra rehearses every week from 6:15-7:45 in the Sanctuary. The orchestra performs on Sunday mornings twice a month and participates in the seasonal music presentations at Christmas and in the spring.  Players are needed in every section (strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion).

The Master Ringers: Lori Merricks, director
This 5 octave handbell choir rehearses every week from 5:45-6:35 p.m. in Room 352 North.  The handbell choir performs on Sunday mornings once a month and participates in other special musical presentations during the year.  Music reading is a prerequisite for ringing in the bell choir.

Rehearsals for both instrumental groups begins on Wednesday, September 2.

Dawson Music Academy Begins Its Sixth Year!

The Dawson Music Academy began its fall semester on August 17. Several new instructors were added this fall to teach the following: French horn, piano, voice, rhythm percussion, and brass.
Lesson times are still available for most instruments. Registration is open year-round.
